Rejected by God

Have you ever felt Rejected by God?

This is not a rare concept. If there is a God, where is He in my pain and in my struggle? God must not be who other people say He is because I am still hurting and he hasn’t shown up, healed me or helped me.

Non-Christians use this as an argument not to believe in God. But Even Christians feel it. How do I know? Because I have felt it.

So how do I still believe? How could I still believe?

As I write, I am awaiting results for my dear husband’s CT scan. We went in for what should have been a “textbook surgery” consult and came out with “other concerns” and the scheduled scan.

I don’t know about you but waiting is the hardest part. No results for days!

The wheels start turning. What is it? Is it treatable? What if? after what if? occupies my mind. And then it happens…we go there…that place in our mind…I call it “worst case scenario land.” And it is the darkest, coldest and loneliest place there is. God doesn’t exist here, we tell ourselves. He couldn’t, because if I go here, it means he has rejected me. He doesn’t care about what I want or need because what I want and need is this man, only this one, right here. If God let’s something bad happen to my sweetheart, he must not love him, or me either for that matter, or want what’s best for either of us.

I get it! It makes sense. Many have thought this way at one point or another or perhaps they still do.

This moment happened to me yesterday. I yelled at God. Hey, he can take it, believe me. But that’s the very thing…

He can take it.

I will say it again, He can take it.

And He does take it.

I’m not saying he just puts up with our anger and fear but, he takes it away from us. He shares the burden.  Will you let him take is the question…

And it is here we have an opportunity. An opportunity to approach the almighty God and ask him to save us. Save us from pain, loss and even death!
The other option is you can stay in worse case scenario land isolated from everyone and refusing to acknowledge God is there with you. …….

You see, when it feels he is the farthest away from our worst-case-scenario that just became our current reality, he is actually still right there with us.

We do not see him due to the monster size storm we face ahead of us. But he is there, right with us. Take your eyes off the storm and look to see Him. Once you see him keep your eyes on him and he will navigate you through the storm.

The storm coming is too big or it surrounds us,

He is right beside us.

So where am I know? I let God take it. All life is in his hands. I am resting and waiting on the Lord. Knowing whatever happens he has got me and he has Ben wrapped up close to him, as well. He held us through it before, and he will again. God has a place for you as well, there is room here. Would you join us?

Job 12:10 “In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.”

Deut 31:8 “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
