In every trial we face, one of 3 things will happen.
1. Everything will work out how you had hoped or better than you thought and you get to rejoice!!
2. Relief. It actually was fear and you joining together, believing that it would be the absolute worst thing, when in fact, it was all made up in your head. In reality, no one was actually doing any conspiring against you.
3. The trial will grow you. Grow your understanding, stretch you past a limit you had set for yourself, or cause you to face the very thing or circumstance you thought would kill you, bringing you to the point of surrender.
Sometimes in life, God allows us to go through the very thing we believe, if we ever had to face or go through, would absolutely kill us. What is amazing, is that going through that big horrible thing, doesn’t kill you! It changes you. It challenge your beliefs, your values, and your priorities. For me, it changed my purpose. Now, in the middle of the big, horrible circumstance, it is very difficult to see anything outside of the fear and the pain.
As you rise and fall, and time distances you from the struggle, look back. Take a look in the rear view and see what you can gain from the experience.
You can’t change it but you can grow from it.
You lost a lot, but what have you gained?
And, if you dare, you can even be THANKFUL! What?! Yes, it takes boldness to believe that God is still in control, He still loves you, He is and has been with you the whole time. You couldn’t see Him but He was there with you. It is not too late if you are in the struggle, past the struggle or on the cusp of a trial, LOOK UP! He is there. Or LOOK OUT and see the bigger plan. When you see it, “give thanks.”
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV
