Ever had one (or many) of those days? The kind where you accomplish next to nothing? I’m talking you do the bare minimum to survive the day?

The morning, afternoon, and evening were strategically thought out. The only thing left to do was execute the plan. So what happened?
They happen unexpectedly! And can come from every direction. Oftentimes when we are faced with detour after detour, our natural inclination is to feel bad, guilty or just plain mad about it. We may even go as far as creating our own detours– in response to the detours. These kinds of thoughts creep in: “well, nothing else has gone as planned, I might as well skip the gym tonight,” or “forget making that healthy dinner, I’m ordering pizza” or “I will just call and cancel our plans.”

The downward spiral continues and we end up going to bed still defeated.

Those were the same thoughts I had.

As I am picking up the phone to order takeout, the thought occurs to me that I have eaten healthy, and on point all day today! Wait a minute! There IS one thing I was actually successful in and I am ready to throw in the towel on that success. Hmm…Then, the next question that came to me was “What else has gone right today?” I answered: At work, I was told, “you guys do things so well there, I have to give you a hard time and laugh when a mistake is made.” Wait a minute! Our mistake wasn’t the end of the world?! THEN it positive snowballed from there: My sweetie sent such a kind and loving message that brought me to tears. Wow!! Had everything gone wrong today, as I had believed? NO!!

So I ask you: WHAT WENT RIGHT FOR YOU TODAY? HOW WERE YOU SUCCESSFUL? Seek it out, stretch as far as you need.

Think on these things, the positives, the went-rights. Get back on track and do the thing you set out to do!!
